Stuart Walldinger, alternatively named "Stewart Walldinger", is a seventh grader at Hazelnut Middle School and the boyfriend of Nicky Little for two years. He is a recurring character in Pepper Ann.
Personality[]
Stuart Walldinger is preceded by his reputation; being once described by Pepper Ann as "representing everything that's wrong with the seventh grade:" glasses, bad fashion sense, "bookishness", and an interest in remote control car racing. In spite of his social awkwardness often making others wary of him, Stuart is shown to be rather sociable, being metal shop partners with Gwen Mezzrow, running an underground zine with Milo Kamalani, and even befriending eighth grader Sketch after meeting at the JavaNutt; in her words, "He's beat!"
Stuart is a very interesting individual. He has his own way of speaking--"fully" is one of his most-used words--and he has specific interests, including going out with Nicky. He and Nicky are prone to arguments due to their clashing hobbies: Stuart loves to race remote control cars while Nicky loves the violin. While shown to think highly of Nicky, he seems to have an inferiority complex in comparison to her, which has also led to Stuart acting out or repressing his emotions. In spite of their occasional bickering the two are generally rather cordial, although they only ended up dating for two years.
Appearance[]
Stuart has black, curly hair, wears glasses, and an orange turtleneck. He wears a gold belt emblazoned with the letter "S," checkered pants in the colors green and blue, yellow socks, and black and white shoes with red soles.
