- Within the Nutshell is scarcely mentioned again after the episode, outside of a brief mention in "The Way They Were" presumably because of the circulation plunge.
- This is the only time we hear Hush speak.
- This episode marks the first (of two) times in which Pepper Ann is explicitly grounded in the series.
- The "Too Hip!" girl who apologizes for making Pepper Ann feel uncomfortable appears again in "Bye Bye Trinket".
