Pepper Ann Wiki

Kona Kamalani is the mother of Milo Kamalani and a minor character in Pepper Ann. She is voiced by Nicole Sullivan.

Kona is a chef, although her specific business has undergone some changes over the course of the series. In the episode "The Velvet Room," she appears to run a catering business and mentions catering "Henrietta Liebowitz's next wedding." In the episode "A Kosher Christmas," her business has shifted somewhat and is now geared toward producing and delivering custom muffin baskets for customers. The business at this point is named Baskets For Every Budget.

Kona is divorced from Milo's father and has since remarried Dirk. As Kona, Milo, and her ex-husband are all of Hawaiian heritage, Kamalani is presumably not Dirk's last name. His last name is never mentioned in the series. Milo's father still lives in Hawaii and there is some indication that Kona and Milo did as well, before the divorce. In "The Velvet Room," Pepper Ann mentions that they've lived in their house in Hazelnut since Milo was three.

"The Velvet Room" also reveals the existence of the titular room in the Kamalani household, which is used only for special occasions and is so fancy that Milo has never set foot in it in his entire life. Kona is particularly sensitive to the room's state of being, as when Pepper Ann accidentally sets one foot in the room, Kona immediately knows. By the end of the episode, though, the rules have been relaxed somewhat, and Kona, Milo, and Dirk all enjoy a nice family game of Kaboomski! in the Velvet Room.
