Crazy Twin Shenanigans is a live-action sitcom that exists within the universe of Pepper Ann. The show features identical twin child stars, Tina and Gina Gingham (likely inspired by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen) and, as the title suggests, episodes revolve around their crazy shenanigans.
Episodes generally feature the twins involved in some misunderstanding, often centered around mistaken identity or general teen drama. By the end of each episode, the twins have reconciled and sorted out any disagreements. Titles mentioned include The Girls In The Attic; Micro-phonies; Rumors; The Sweater Switch; Temper Tantrum Times Two; and Treble Trouble. Crazy Twin Shenanigans is filmed before a live studio audience and has had at least eight seasons.
Pepper Ann is a fan of the show, but Nicky describes it as "an amusing waste of time, but a waste of time nonetheless." It is featured prominently in the second-season episode "Vanessa Less Tessa," when Pepper Ann tries to use its plotlines to help Tessa and Vanessa make up after an argument by enacting her own brand of crazy twin shenanigans. As the episode progresses, however, it becomes clear that Pepper Ann has always missed the ending of every episode, where Tina and Gina realize that they could have avoided their problems if they had just talked things out.
In the episode "The Finale," which takes place fifteen years in the future, it is revealed that Tina and Gina (the actresses, not the characters they played on Crazy Twin Shenanigans) are estranged after disagreements over finances and romances.
